[nvda] Re: thanks

What is the purpose of creating an arbitrary ideological goal and then attempting to meet it except for meeting an arbitrary ideological goal? If you can explain how doing so benefits the development of NVDA in any meaningful way, I'd be interested in such an explanation. NVDA is still very much in early development. It's more like a beta with a great deal of work to be done. New releases will have improvements and new problems. If you have an ideological bias against commercial products and this is your way of expressing it then do so but I see no reason to place ideology above a logical principle. That principle is, I use what serves me best and that may mean different screen-readers, media players, etc. in different circumstances.

Maybe the developers have good reasons to stop using commercial screen-readers. Maybe it helps them develop NVDA by giving them more experience evaluating and testing it. What purpose is doing so going to serve in your case?

I am not saying people shouldn't spend time using NVDA to evaluate and test it. That's completely different from an arbitrary decision to stop using commercial screen-readers.

Here, Here!

I have embarked on the NVDA Challenge. That is, to wean myself off my commercial screen
reader. If the author can do it, so can i. Who cares to join?
