[nvda] Re: suggestion

Could one write a script in say a text editor, if one had the info on command syntax?

The problem I've always had with scripts, maps or whatever is that you need to know the visual layout, the control functions and what sort of controls windows etc, are used and when. You also need to know what sort of cursor you have and how it is supposed to behave etc etc. This is all visual stuff, and thus its always going to be difficult for someone with little vision to knock them up without a sighted reasonably intelligent person on hand.

It isn't trivial. However, nor is writing scripts for any screen reader. It is true that we do perhaps need to offer some additional configurability here and there, but when it comes to scripting, one always needs a certain amount of technical knowledge. Unfortunately, our documentation is very much lacking atm, so writing scripts for the uninitiated is rather painful - again something we will rectify in time.
