Hello,
I've also followed these instructions and they work fine. Thanks for the
tip!
But I have some questions:
1. I already have an autorun.inf file in witch I've specified the USB
stick's name and its icon. But When I pasted the autorun commands from
below, Windows uses the icon specified for the USB stick for both the
stick and the "Start NVDA" command in the list. When I remove the line
for the specified USB stick icon, Windows uses the icon for "Start NVDA"
command for the stick also. Can I use (specify) a different icon for the
stick and the "Start NVDA" command? At the moment, my autorun.inf file
looks like this:
[AUTORUN]
LABEL=My USB Flash Drive
open=MYPORT~1\NVDA\nvda.exe
Action=Start NVDA
Icon=MYPORT~1\NVDA\nvda.exe
shell\NVDA="Start NVDA"
shell\NVDA\command=MYPORT~1\NVDA\nvda.exe
2. Can I add more programs to the "autorun" list like the example with
NVDA? And can I use different icon for each one of them?
And another question related to NVDA and "Process Explorer":
3. Why doesn't NVDA read the list of processes in "Process Explorer"? It
reads the other list in that application (the so called "Lower pain"),
but it doesn't read the list of processes. Yes, I know that the
WindowClass is probably not standard (actually, the WindowClass is
"TreeListWindowClass") and that's why NVDA does not read it. I'm using
NVDA snapshot 2300 and "Process Explorer" v11.20.
If you need more information from me - feel free to ask.
Best wishes!

Hi
Copy the following text into notepad.
[autorun]
open=nvda\nvda.exe
Action=Start NVDA
icon=nvda\nvda.exe
shell\NVDA="Start NVDA"
shell\NVDA\command=nvda\nvda.exe
Save this as a file called autorun.inf
Save this file onto the pen drive where your portable version of NVDA is
(Eg. H drive or whatever letter your pen drive is). Make sure that this
file is saved into the main drive root directory. Do not put it in the
NVDA folder as it will not work. (Eg. when you put your pen drive in, it
should say (whatever the name of the files folders are on that drive)
and the autorun.inf should be on the list of stuff on that pen drive.
Now, that you have saved it in the portable drive, remove your usb stick
and put it back in again. This time, if your computer has an autorun
funciton (like when you put in a cd and it runs it automatically) then
it should come up as the first option. Press enter and NVDA will start
for you!
Let me know how you go with this.
