Yes, but basically appears as the first option in that auto startup dialogue
in XP pro, so after putting it in, I wait around 10 seconds, and then hit
enter, and there you go.

Does that mean it starts automatically?

flash drive
I deleted/cleared the NVDA folder on my flash drive and copied over the
working instance of it off my hard drive.
The version on my flash drive gets autorun using the combination of the
.inf and .bat files, but also tried it manually with narrator running in
case there was something to be 'seen', and no go...
Have sent the log file through now.

One question, did you completely remove the older version of NVDA off of
the flash drive before updating to the newer one? Sometimes certain
things are added or removed that may make it not possible to just place
the new versions over the old ones. One thing to note. If you are
worried about losing your NVDA settings such as voice speed, virtual
buffer settings and so on, the file where these settings are kept is in
a file called nvda.ini. More often than not if you copy and save the
nvda.ini file to another location when you upgrade your version of NVDA
and put that file back in its place after upgrading, you can keep the
settings you had.

Although the exact same set of files runs fine on my C: drive, when I
copy it over to the flash drive, when I initiate the startup, I hear,
the normal startup sound, followed by two error sounds (slightly
different), and that's all.
I have tested running other executables (installs) off the flash drive,
so I don't think it's specific to the drive, and if I do a disk check
it doesn't return any errors as such.
Before I updated it now, r2053 was running fine.
Can't remember off-hand where to check the log file etc?
