[nvda] Re: nvda and winamp

Actually a correction to my earlier post concerning the media library. The treeview is accessible and NVDA does read it with winamp version 5.5 ----- Original Message ----- From: "John Greer" <jpgreer17@xxxxxxxxxxx>

Well if you feel up to it, I might suggest putting 1235 from the snapshots page on there. You may notice that quite a few bugs have been cleared up since the actual 0.5 release. Also I just did a little testing in the Winamp library with NVDA and for NVDA not intentionally being scripted to work with the music library it is fairly accessible. The tree view of course doesn't read but it is possible to tab between display panes and the buttons that are available. At first glance, can a person play with the music library in winamp? Not 100 percent but with a little playing around they may figure some things out. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Darren Duff" <duff379@xxxxxxxxx>

I'm running 0.5. Haven't had a problem with the keyboard locking up yet, but
that's interesting.

What version of NVDA are you currently running? The reason I ask is because
I was running an earlier version of NVDA and each time I tried to play a
song it would lock the keyboard up. I have since installed 1235 and it no
longer has this problem.

OH right! Good points! I'll have to play around with it and see what I
can find.

I'm not talking about how many copies of Winamp are running. I'm
talking about having more than one Window opened in Winamp. Did you
control tab to see if you moved to other Winamp windows? While I
can't say that NVDA wouldn't cause conflicts with Winamp such as you
describe, it certainly doesn't on my machine and I wouldn't expect it
to in general. I'm not saying it didn't happen in your specific case
but it is important to make sure there are no other causes since this
should be very unlikely.

The problem probably has nothing to do with NVDA. You probably have
more than one Winamp window opened and you were in a window where
commands couldn't function.

Yeah, I know that I couldn't get winamp to pause or to shuffle files.

basically the same as they are when using jaws, window eyes, or even
narrator. x to play v to stop b for next track z for previous track
right arrow to fast forward through a track left arrow to rewind
through a track up arrow to bring the volume up and down arrow to
bring the volume down.
Of
course along with all of the other hotkeys built into winamp itself.
A browse either through the preferences in winamp or through the
help files in winamp will tell you what others are.
