[nvda] Re: nvda and irc

Hi,

I also use chatZilla, but when I've gone on the NVDA channel noone's online.
IRC doesn't support the typing thing, sorry. It does announce when people
join and leave the channel though, something like
foaly (bigd@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx) has joined #nvda
Tip: to move between the edit box, the output window and the list of users,
hit f6. If you need any help with IRC or ChatZilla, feel free to send me a
message. I am also on msn, my passport, address, whatever you call it, is
bigd_vi_guy@xxxxxxxxxxx

Another IRC thing: from any IRC edit box, type
/server testing.bitlbee.org
This is an irc messenger client. If you want to use this, press control tab
until you get to the @YourName on &bitlbee channel ( you may need to press
NVDA+T to make it read the title) then type
account add Protocol Username Password
Replace the protocol username password with the actual info. Bitlbee
supports msn, jabber (google talk, LJTalk, others...) oscar (aim and ICQ)
and yahoo. Keep giving that command until you've added all the accounts you
want. When you're done, do
account on
If all went well, you will be signed in to all your accounts and it will
announce your contacts joining the channel. to send a message to someone,
/query nickname and type away.

Hope this helps!

  Subject: [nvda] nvda and irc

  Hello all:
I've been trying to use the irc channel for nvda with chatzilla, a plugin
for firefox but everytime I send a message I just sit there, and I'm getting
no replies. Obviously someone could be busy or just not online, but I don't
think my message is going through. I've been pinging people so I know
they're online, so my question is, does nvda announce when someone is
sending you a message, for example, jaws used to report that so and so is
typing a message. Also, I don't exactly know how irc works, I'm used to
Instant messaging and I don't know if they're different. Does nvda report
when a person signs on/off?
  Thanks for any help
  kendell calrk
