Here is something interesting. I just tried Device Manager with System Access from Sarotek (spelling.) I found that it also says this device is working properly every time you move in any way in the treeview. I am very suspicious that this is an artifact of using MSAA to access treeviews which I believe both System Access and NVDA do and does not indicate the true state of items.
