You're not the only non-tekkie person on this list. <g> I'm pretty
good as a computer user but I'm not a programmer either. i signed up
for this list because I am enthusiastic about the idea of a free open
source screenreader for widnows and I figured the people writing the
product might could also make use of feedback from people who
actually use the program.
I am fairly impressed with nvda also but need to revert to my main
screenreader to use Eudora, my mail client and the program I probably
use most on this computer.
Keep up the good work, everyone!
Doris

Hi guys:
I'd like to add my introduction as well. I am Debra Gardner from
Texas and my primary screenreader has been window-eyes plus Jaws at
work. I am probably the most nontechnical person on this list, so
you'll have to bear with me. (smile) I'd like to say to Mick and
Jamie a big thank you and that I am very impressed with Nvda for
being such a full-blown screenreader that is absolutely free. I've
actually been able to use it to help a friend download and install
something on her new windows Vista computer. I don't have late
enough versions of Jaws or Window-eyes to have done that. I wish I
new how to program so I could help you out, but alas ...
My only real problems with Nvda (where I have to quicly pull down
another screenreader to help me out) are when I am filling out
forms. Just as it doesn't read the two and from lines in outlook
express, it doesn't read what I have typed when the virtual
pass-through buffer is off. It handles everything else (that I need
it for) pretty well.
Once again, thanks for all the hard work and for your desire to
create a quality product
Sincerely,
Debra in Texas

Subject: [nvda] Introduction
Hello all,
I'm Robert Osztolykan from hungary, and i'd like to introduce myself.
Some of you who subscribed to the audyssey gamers mailing list, or
visiting audiogames.net's forums, may know me as Robjoy.
I'm 19 years old, studying informatic technology, including
programming, but unfortunately i do not know the pithon language.
I'm using jaws as my main screen reader, and, of course, its quite good.
However, after visiting a friend who has no screen reader at all
(of course not, he's sighted, stupid me, smiles), i looked for
alternatives, and i've found thunder.
I've thought, its ok, but when someone has told me about nvda, i
said, lets give it a try. So, i did, and i have to say, i'm quite
impressed. Considering that its a
quite young project, open source, and free, it totally deserves the
best free screen reader reward.
The fact, that it works with firefox, made me happy as well, since
i'm not a big friend of IE, and since i'm using jaws 6.2, which has
no firefox support, i think its
quite understandable.
Well, these are my thoughts for now, as i realised i'm talking too
much about things which are obvious.
Best regards,
Rob
