Hello Jamey and all,
I would like to provide a step by step report on how I have re-produced this
firefox crash, I will be as detailed as posible. I am using NVDA r2463
snapshot version with firefox3.0.3. Here's what I've done.
1. Uninstalled firefox3.0.3 and 3.1 beta2 using another screen reader, system
access.
3. Rebooted the sytem.
4. Started NVDA as a normal user.
5. Started firefox3.0.3, again as a normal user.
6. "At this point, the virtual buffers seem to be working normally. It says
busy and all the usual and then says done. Now here is where the problem
starts.
7. After NVDA says done, I hear nothing. Pressing tab, shift+tab and even alt
tabbing produces absolutely no speech whatsoever. My sighted friend tells me
that firefox crashes and brings up an error saying firefox has stopped working
and gives me the option of closeing the program, etc.
8. I press alt f4 to get out of that, and nvda plays the error sound and
starts speaking again.
I restarted the machine again and got the same result when bringing up firefox.
As I said before I'm running firefox and nvda as normal users, not admin
users. Please let me know if I need to provide any info that can be helpful.
I'd like to try and help get this resolved any way I can so that this doesn't
happen to a potential vista user. I'm willing to do whatever it takes even
chat live with one of you if need be. Please let me know if this info helps.
I'm running vista ultimate 32 bit version on a del optiplex 210 with a 2.80GHZ
processor and 2 gigs of ram with an 80 gig hard drive. Thanks and hope this
helps somewhat,
Mike
2. Re-installed firefox3.0.3, still using system access.
