Lynux may be fine for the geek hobbiest, but the average computer user has a
job to do, and doesn't have time for playing around with Lynux.
The fact is you can't point to one business office suite that will work with
speech or Braille access in Lynux. Not one access technology running on Lynux
will work in a business level package with a business quality word processor,
spreadsheet, database and presentation manager. So, other than computer geeks
there aren't a lot of blind people in professional jobs outside the computer
field that could get a job using a computer with Lynux.

: Well, while I have to admit I have had some disappointments with linux. I am
liking it more and more every day. Most of the disappointments I had were
because I didn't know what I was doing at the time. My experience has been the
operating system is very forgiving to the computer shutting down because of a
power outage, and I am always amazed at these little terminal programs and what
they can do.
: It would be nice to see portable apps for linux which for all I know may
already exist. The fact that you can carry a live CD of your operating system
with you, and bring older computers back to life is a real plus.
: I would think if there was a way to get older computers to boot from their
usb port. The operating system could even be carried on a jumpdrive.
: Orca is fairly new, but it has come a long way.
: Mike.
