[nvda] Re: key to read the status line in programs like outlook

Hi,

There is no key for reading the status line yet. In most screen readers with a video intercept, this kind of script would read the bottom line of the screen.

In NVDA this is not possible to work out actual lines on the screen, but perhaps NVDA could search for the first statusbar object in the current foreground window. This assumes though that there is only one statusbar object in a foreground window (which I guess would usually be true).

As to a roadmap, there isn't one at the moment, but perhaps that might be a good idea.

If people want to write to the list with any features they would like to see implemented in NVDA in the future, I can compile a document together of the features in order of importants.

Mick

Does this key or key combination exist in programs like outlook express and internet explorer? While i'm on a role, is there a roadmap for NVDA?
