[nvda] irc issues

Hello,
I was just wondering.
I have been having problems with irc and trying to connect to the irc channel for nvda. 
I have used miranda but it all of the sudden has stopped working.
are there any good alternatives to miranda that work with irc and miranda?
I have everything set up just right for miranda and irc because it worked a few days ago. 
any help would be apriciated.
