You said it!By the way, the wineyes keystroke for the system tray to be used in a list, is "insert+s" As Doug from GW states, in every Wineyes tutorial, they are not trying to reinvent the wheel, thus the same not wishing to reinvent windows.
And that's my last word here. Good day all. On 11/8/2009 11:48 AM, burt henry wrote:
I will say again that the key strokes are WHEN NOT THE SAME USUALLY QUITE SIMILAR TO JFW. JAWS is the $#1 screenreader in the world as far as numbers of users/and won't change for quite a while if ever. No, I don't know of audio tutorials for NVDA. Maybe some jaws users could build an interface to emulate its keystrokes in NVDA, but I for one don't want Jamie and Mik to waste any of there time in things that are not directly related to better NVDA performance/access to aps and content.Burt On 11/8/2009 8:17 café, Kevin Cussick wrote:Hello, I am not criticizing the devs of nvda so don't try and make out I am!!!! I am just saying what I think. I think nvda is a grate screen reader and I use it as my main screen reader but I still think it should be added insert f 11 for system tray. All other screen readers have this don't know about we. Hal has the option to do it I think and jfw does it why not have a jfw keyboard emulation as an option making the shift over more pleasant from jfw to nvda. I use jfw as an example because like it or not it is the most used screen reader on the market. maybe things will change. I don't have any other screen reader on my computers just nvda. I will just say that I really struggle with object navigation, if there is an audio tutorial on how to use object navigation i would love to hear it. Again I am not having a pop at any of the devs just saying what I think. Kevin Cussick. burt henry wrote:it can't be much easier, as so many key-strokes are if not the same, similar. For me the thing is not to try and copy jaws functionality, butdo things that jfw, win-eyes, hal?/never used it, and screen access don't do, or don't do well. B.H. P.S.-an exec with gw micro said something to the effect that if one had the chance it would be best for them to not only have win-eyes, but at least one other good screen reader. There is so much ground to cover, and FS has 100 ppl working directly for them(more or less); NVDA has TWO?! WOW these guys are great! Can't say thanks and good work enough. If we knew that most blind people who are expected to use NVDA wouldread documentation, this would be a minor issue. but most blindscreen-reader users don't learn much about their screen-reader. Also, currently, I see nothing directly dealing with how to use the SystemTray in the documentation. There is one very brief reference about how to open the NVDA menu from the system tray but there is no section explaining how to use the System tray. Nothing is explainedsuch as that enter when using the system tray is equivalent to double left click, the context menu key is equivalent to single right clickand, according to a list member, the space bar is equivalent to a single left click. Very few blind people are going to know any ofthis and even if this were in the documentation, most people wouldn'tread it. There are certain conventions, such as the system traydialog, that are so common and widespread that screen-readers shouldinclude them.
