[nvda] Re: help crisis

thanks friends,
I listened to your advice and clicked the recovery button on my computer. It
restored it to factory defaults. This is a hard lesson for me. grin. now,
when i did the recovery procedure, i forgot to unplug my printer and my
scanner. the problem i am facing now is that when i plug and unplug them, i
do not get the prompt telling me that a new hardware was found, and it gives
me no choice of installing the drivers. when i plug and unplug I hear the
tone as if they are already installed, however, when i go to the list of
printers, my printer is not there, and my scanner is not there either. Is
there a way of fixing this problem short of having to look for the drivers
again online?

The good news is that NVDA is back and running flawlessly again. I find it
to be the lightest screen reader around.
Cheers,
Cris

hmm you don't.
if you have a password reset disk you are supposed to get that going.
if you have another admin account you can log in delete that account or
the info not sure if you need the info or not, and redo it.
If its the only account, just reformat and don't do it again.
Its never happened to me.

Hi chriss I don't know what you did but it sounds like you need to format
the hard drive and re install the operating system.
