[nvda] Re: free software and NVDA

Hi, thanks all for the alternative suggestions for Office. Since I'm having major problems with my copy of Office 2003, I may have to abandon the Microsoft version and give the alternatives a try. I gave Jarte a try a while back, and I thought it was good, except it couldn't handle Word 2003 documents, even though they had the .doc extension. I'm sure the new version of Jarte can handle them though, since I was using Jarte 2.x I believe at the time. Thanks again, and take care.

Hi,

Ok I know some of you on here have been looking for free word processors and stuff that work with screen readers like NVDA. One I have found is called jarte. www.jarte.com . There is a free version and a paid version. The other I found but did not try yet is called Lotus symphony. it runs both on windows and linux. So you can try these and see if they work and if you prefer them over microsoft office.
