Hi, I had the opportunity to talk about NVDA in a podcast interview at http://itc.conversationsnetwork.org/shows/detail3715.html One message is that NVDa will help older people who are losing vision. this is an affordability issue in the U.s. where social services are scarce if you are not a veteran, employee, or student. any way NVDA is a good choice because it does most of what is needed. a different reason for NVDA is to erase the excuse for not testing applications and web pages with a screen reader. However, someone newly downloading nvda has two practical problems. which version? How to improve the default voice? so, here is a quick start at http://apodder.org/blog/NVDA-quick-start.html. Helpful feedback on the write-up accuracy and other advice would be much appreciated. Maybe there are other ways in the installation to help the new user overcome voice shock.
