That's right, and I can attest to this having already trained some people
with NVDA.

For the good computer user this would probably be just fine.  But for the
not so savy user having to setup their own keyboard reading keys would
probably turn out to be difficult for them.  We need to keep in mind that
for a software to grow in use it needs to be usable by more than just the
savy computer user, and easy enough to use to attract those who might not be
able to afford speech software or the money to pay for training.
