Well I can assure you webformater which is most of the problem has no
spyware, and sometime spybot will flag up a registry entry which some other
program has put in as a spam block or whatever. Mind you avg 8 does this as
well.

well when I find items in spybot I always try to see if I need to bother.
I used to use bareshare, but its full of viruses, trogens and the like
that clutter search results and spybot says its spyware.
And so its gone.
I used to use a program called demon tools for cd image viewing it uses
spyware as a side bar, and seems to have spyware in it.
I don't use that program much so I got rid of it.
If something has spyware or reported spyware I will just not use it as a
matter of course.

As far as Spy bot goes, NVDA doesn't seem to be much of an issue for me
when I use the Spybot for the blind mode that you can check to install
when you install Spy bot. If I need to know whether or not Spy bot found
spy ware I usually from within the Spybot options assign the sound for
Spybot finds items and Spybot doesn't find items.

So how hard would it be, for example, to get around the problems of
Internet Exploder, to say detect the popular Web formater helper and
revert to reading the screen as text? Of course I do not understand how
the links and other controls are implimented in this software but if you
run it in nvda now it is totally ignored and it still reads the buffer.
It would also be very handy if someone could do the honours on the
screen of Spybot as well.

The recent Skype discussion made me wonder, can people create script
type things for NVDA?
Yes.
I noticed a folder called appmodules or something
like that which has some python source code and compiled versions of
said code.
Correct. The folder is called appModules.
If someone is knowledgeable in python, can they use the NVDA
python console or similar program to write custome NVDA "scripts"?
The NVDA Python Console is a Python interpreter to be used within NVDA;
it is not used to write appModules. See:
http://trac.nvda-project.org/wiki/PythonConsole
for info on the NVDA Python console. You would just use an editor
capable of saving text files, whether that be a standard text editor or
some sort of development environment. The short answer is yes, although
it also requires some knowledge of NVDA's architecture and API.
