[nvda] Re: arabic keyboard layout

Hi Mohammed ,

NVDA does use unicode for text wherever possible, but we have major issues in terms of i18n with keyboard input and echo. We intend to look into this further. Also, there are probably other i18n issues we have missed or are not aware of. I have no idea what is required to support right-to-left languages apart from keeping everything in unicode. Certainly, keep providing feedback; we need to know what isn't working, although I can't guarantee we will be able to solve it. :)

We're hopefully going to revise a lot of the keyboard stuff in the coming weeks. IT will require changes to pyHook, which will be a bit tricky.

hi listers.

I have tried NVDA with an Arabic speech synth, and since that synth is
SAPI 5 compliant it did work with NVDA.

my question has NVDA been built from the start to support Unicode and right to left languages? I know at this stage nothing has been made so far, but I am just asking about NVDA's potentials. one quick note, whenever I run it and try to switch my keyboard to Arabic using alt+shift nothing happens.

thank you,
Mohammed Al-shar'

Hi,

Thanks for the suggestion, we will look in to it soon. I don't think it should be too hard, it really depends on how fast the focus moves from the deleted message to the next message.

Subject: [nvda] Deleting in Outlook Express

Hello. Got a quick suggestion.
ould it be possible to have the delete key say the next highlighted message? Right now, this works with the arrow keys, but delete says "outlook Express message list list" and nothing else.
Is this doable?

Thanks.

J.J.
