The 64 bit processor isn't a problem as long as you are running a 32 bit
operating systems (OS). JAWS and I believe Windows-eyes do NOT work
with Vista 64 bit since these packages apparently use some additional
hooks into the video driver. Microsoft completely changed the
underlying video system for the 64 bit OS.
After talking to some engineers at Jaws, I would suggest you change to
the 32 bit OS until everyone can catch up. Apparently the 64 bit
operating systems are substantially different and it will take some time
to catch up.
FYI, I'm getting old and crazy and I can't remember if NVDA ran on the
64 bit OS before I removed it. My recollection is it did. That would
make sense given that NVDA seems to solely rely on the accessibility
infrastructure (DOM and MSAA). As evidence of that, I can put NVDA on
ANY computer without adverse affects!!!! Wa hoooo!!!! This is not true
of JAWS. For example, I work with developers who use two monitors.
Since Jaws apparently puts hooks into the video system, one of the
monitors will stop responding.

Subject: [nvda] a question about nvda
hi alll am a new member and i want to know if nvda will work with 64 bit
systmes meaning i would have a 64 bit processor if it does will be happy
if
it don't then i will be frustrated in the fact that a screen reader
won't
work with that processor.
