I think he meant trying the shortcut while you were in the difficult part. If you bring up task manager while its running does it still work slowly, an then you could look at the processor usage for that software. 

I wonder if its the 99 percent processor use problem again.

If I alt tab away from window's mail nvda works fine.

It's only when I am in that program and specifically wanting to move an
e-mail to a folder or looking threw the e-mail folders on the server
then it is hopeless.  Hth.

I very much doubt it. A display intercept does not increase speed; if
anything, it can slow things down.

It sounds like we might be getting too many events or some such. When it
lags, are commands such as NVDA+f12 to read the time also slow to respond?
