espeak-EN and espeak-default voices were the same (until I made the
change in version 1.18.02 which I described in the previous reply).
eSpeak has many voices, but the Installer doesn't put them all in the
Windows Registry because it would clutter the voices list with those
(such as Romanian) which you probably aren't interested in.
So it installs just three:
1. espeak-EN, English.
2. espeak-X, where "X" is a language which is recognised from the
Windows User Interface setting, or if that's English, or not
recognized, then it installs espeak-AF (Afrikaans).
3. espeak-default. This allows you to choose a voice by copying a
voice file from espeak-data/voices to replace the file
espeak-data/voices/default. There must be a better way to do this, so
I'm open to suggestions.
