I'm sorry this subject brought so many controversies.

This was not my intention for sure.
This simply means that for now, I will continue to use my commercial screen reader with Thunderbird. 
No problem whatsever for me here.
simply, since Mozilla, and I believe actually, IBM, are commited to accessibility, 
maybe this issue should also be bought to them.

Aaron isn't implementing IAccessible2 himself, but another guy (who couldn't be hear at CSUN sadly) apparently is doing it.
So hopefully if its June that we can start playing with IAccessible2, then hopefully NVDA should have something usable in July sometime, perhaps before.
Hopefully for now I can practice on Lotis Notes 8 (which has IAccessible2 support).

Unfortunately, we don't have any way of accessing text from Mozilla editable controls. MSAA does not really provide decent support for document objects, so we would have to interface directly with the application and there is no interface we are aware of to achieve this. Maybe we could find a way to make NVDA recognise that the field is editable and thus disable the virtual buffer code, but you still won't be able to read the text. Hopefully, a lot of this will be solved by IAccessible 2 when it arrives.

otherwize, navigation in the Thunderbird software seems to read fine, including message list, etc.
