[nvda] Re: Thunderbird e-mail cliant

Hello,
there is an application called regsvr32.exe within the windows\system32 folder. You have to give the path to IA2.dll as a commandline parameter to this application in order to register it. So first go to your NVDA directory, locate ia2.dll in the lib subfolder. Then go to the command prompt and type
regsvr32.exe x:\path\to\your\nvda\lib\ia2.dll
where x is the drive letter of the device where you have your NVDA and path\to\your\nvda is the path to the folder where nvda.exe or nvda.piw in case you are runing from sources resides.

Hope that's it.

Well, so now I need to know how it can be registered and where is it on my system?
I ask because I never done this before!

Hello,
I guess you are wrong. it's because you weren't following Jamie's instructions. Let me quote the most important part:
NVDA trunk partially supports IAccessible 2 and I can tell you that it does allow you to read while composing messages in Thunderbird 3. However, it is still not quite ready for mainstream use and I'd only recommend trying it if you know what you are doing. You need to register the ia2 dll before
it will work.

So the question is have you got registered ia2.dll ?

Hi,

That's because of the only partial IAccessible2 support in NVDA.

Here's a download location that should do the trick for you.

Hi

I'm also using Thunderbird, version 2.0, and I have exactly the same ishue, however this is nothing new for me, since I know that's an accessibility problem in Thunderbird. What you can try is write message in Notepad and then paste into a Message Window and then just send it with CTRL+ENTER. Also, I heard that this problem is fixed with Thunderbird 3 Alpha, but I can't find download location.

I don't remember if I'm using rev1022, anyway this is the latest trunch available.
I've a problem with menus:
if I am in a folder, and I make right click to bring up the context menu for a file, NVDA reads only some items. In particular, if I select "open with", NVDA tells 1 of 8, 2 of 8, and speaks only the item "program" 6 of 8.
here is an example with a doc files:
this may changes from pc to pc because anyone has his applications installed, but just to give an idea:
file test.doc. I make a right click:
Open 1 of 22.
print 2 of 22.
check test.doc 3 of 22 (this is avast).
5 of 22.
open whith submenu.
submenu.
winrar submenu.
send to submenu.
cut 15 of 22.
copy 16 of 22.
create link 18 of 22.
rename 19 of 22.
delete 20 of 22.
properties 22 of 22.

is it clear?
