[nvda] Re: Technical issue

Ah, that explains why its been working without errors recently then. I have used the old install to a second folder then run that and then install again to the old one, but not sure if this gets around the problem or is just fooling me.

When I want to upgrade nvda, i download the latest snapshot, quit nvda, delete old version and unpack the new. But, When i want to delete the old snapshot, Windows displais, that it is not possible. The nvda helper is currently used. I tried to kill it via the task manager, but unfortunately the proces does not exist in list.
There is no real way to work around this. We've tried everything we know to ensure that the NVDAHelper dll is unloaded properly, but unfortunately, Windows just seems to sometimes hold on to this and won't let it go. Please try to quit all open applications. Note that this dll shouldn't change too much now that it has stabilised, so you could just keep this one and not replace it. The installer doesn't replace the dll unless it has changed and it will request a reboot automatically if required.
