By "no apparent error", do you mena you got no error sound?
If there is no error sound, an error won't be logged. The error sound literally means that an error was logged.

could deal with OE when you come to work on the new buffers for IE.
This is probably what will happen. NVDA's performance with OE is already negatively impacted by the old IE code, so it'd be good to fix both sets of issues.
