This is to speed up displays after the page loads, is that right? Its the
one think which was a bit disappointing about the software, but when one
considers what it is capable of, its pretty good.

Actually there aren't too many options. You can either stick with version
0.5 or use one of three recent builds available at the snapshots page.
According to my experiences builds posted these days are all quite stable
the main thing which makes developers busy is still new gecko 1.9 virtual
buffer implementation which is not integrated with the snapshots builds.
