Query => Festival can run on windows, but ... it needs mbrola! REPLY =>
Nope Nope, it does not need Mbrola at all and can work absolutely on its
own and that is to its sibling Flite. Mind you can interface with Mbrola
if you need emotional fit for example in chartbot animation to give
expression of being angry, sad, happy, smile, etc.. but Festival can
work alone.
Query => Can you give a link to download festival for windows? REPLY=>
UK primary site: http://www.cstr.ed.ac.uk/downloads/festival/1.95/
USA primary site:
http://festvox.org/packed/festival/latest/
Festival with MSAPI:
http://www.e-gymraeg.org/wispr/1.0/wispr_msapi.zip Note: You may to edit
the config.ini and change the line command=(voice_hl_diphone) to
command=(voice_X1_X2) where voice_X1_X2 is your install voice e.g.
English, Welsh, French, German, etc. From the site you can also get the
source code if you want to compile your own. If you need assistant in
regarding compilation, let me know.
Stay blessed!!!
Kind regards,
Sanyaade

Festival can run on windows, but ... it needs mbrola!
I've an italian package of Festival and it uses mbrola.exefor speaking.
Anyway I haven't read many documentations for festival, so perhaps there
are other ways. bye.

REPLY==> If you are talking aboutt Euler (opensource edition) then you
can remove the licence agreement
from the program before compiling it and how to do
that is state in the documentationn that come
with the kit. I have compile it few years before on
Windows but some MFC stuff (Microsoft Foundation Class) tied up with
discourage me. I may look it up again and port it to wxWindows.
There is also eLite version that is easy to use
and
fsater but still closed source.
ALTERNATIVE PACKAGES: Festival or Fllite opensource
multiplatform run Linux, Windows (SAPI and Non SAPI
available), Mac. CSLU grandad of them all robust package uses TCL/TK as
scripting language almost natural voice
better
than NatLink (in my opinion) but still opensource.
eSpeak is light easy to use and integrate into many
applications and with a good DSP incorporated into it can give you a
good voice output. Nothing is impossible with eSpeak but it wont come
out of box.
Stay blessed!!!
Kind regards,
Sanyaade
