no idea but on a simular note, I am trouble chuting the main server here.
This system has draggon 10 loaded.
And requires a firewall zonealarm in fact as it is going to be used for all the
net traffic, etc.
The issue of this thing is it is quite slow.
Thinking it was just to old, I checked the task manager, and only 21% of cpu
was used and 300 out of the 512mb of ram is being used.
Last night and this morning I spent some time cleaning up the system, temp
files, viruses although there is protection active, spyware scan, and removing
unwanted programs as well as cleaning registry.
I have no idea other than the obvious money spending ones that I could do to
the unit.
The main issue is the user of this system needs dragon loaded, avg protection
loaded at full because of university viruses, etc and this added firewall to.
Pluss a load of extra stuff.
We also share photos with this system as well as several photo editing packages.
I have no idea what I can do to improve performance.
Its to much to put back if I reformatted it and would take to long pluss the
issues would just come back.
At any rate I am limited by what the system's accounts are used for.
In an ideal situation, I'd scale back on visuals, turn off avg, delete the
firewall, and scale all the software including games back to what is needed.
This is basically office, and maybe the main photo apps and the mapping
programs.
And if push came to shove just office could be on there.
