Hi Mike,
this problem depends on "Sata" settings in bios. Windows XP can not work
with this technology during instalation process.
It is needed to switch off this feature in bios. And after system
instalation you must install specific drivers for this feature and then
switch on this function. But it can be disabled for all time if you want. It
will works correctly, but not in best performance. This Technology has
influence to speed of data reading.
How to disable this feature.
1. Enter to the bios (F2, F10, or delete). It depends on bios type which you
have.
2. Go through bios menu and find somethink like "sata native mode, AHCI
mode" or somethink with "Sata".
I don.t know which type of bios do you have, so i can not say it dirrectly.
You must change the parameter on disable or switch it on "compatible mode".
3. Save changes and restart the machine.
Now you can run the instalation process of Windows XP. It will detect your
HDD without any problems.
4. If you want to switch it to working after system instalation, you must
firstly install the drivers and then change parameter back to default in
bios.
Regards
