[nvda] Odd behavior of NVDA in some menus

Hi,
in some menus NVDA behaves incorrectly:
It doesn't speak the menu items, just its state or its position within
the structure:
For example: "unavailable" "x of y", where "x" is the actual position of
the item, and "y" is the number of items at all.
However I don't hear the title of the item, so it's impossible to navigate.
It happens in Cute-FTP and in the menu of the Avira virus scanner.
It may happen in other programs, but this is what I've figured out.
Is this known? What to do to work around it?
Hermann
