Since it can run under a "DOS" window, I'd wonder if it would work
well. I wonder if Gnopericus could work with NVDA, or even the Gnome

What exactly do you think is wrong with pine? You know, I don't
think you should trash linux unless you are actually familiar with
it. I support about 100 sighted linux users and probably half of
them use pine by choice. I use mutt when reading email via linux.
I don't know why you think pine and lynx are so bad. What are you
missing out on? Well, lynx doesn't support javascript. Personally, I
use edgrowse to surf the web. But the point is that the bells and
whistles that come with a modern GUI are simply a waste of resources
for blind people.
I'll bet I do everything on my linux laptop that you do on your
Windows computer, possibly more.

I went to a presentation on Lynux at the ACB convention back in July
and was surprised that these folks were still excited about surfing
the web with Links and doing email with Pine. Good grief, that is
what we were doing 10 years ago in DOS. If Lynux isn't any further
than that then who wants it anyway?
