Hi,
I guess this could be possible, though I don't think it will be in 0.6p3.
1. The user guide is currently in html, although a web browser could be
started with the reading position at that particular entry, its probably
best that the user guide be in Windows CHM format, or what ever MS wants
to use these days for help. However Until NVDA can relyably render and
read Internet Explorer_Server MSHTML controls, there is no point in
doing this.
2. The user guide is translated in to many languages. We need to make
sure that translators maintain the same layout, and that the section IDs
keep the same values so that its possible to jump to the same section in
any language.
So, context sensitive help won't be happening soon, but it probably is a
good idea at some point in the future.

Hello list members. Would it be possible to implement a
context-sensitive help feature in NVDA, so that if the user does not
know what a particular setting does they can press f1 and open the
users manual to that setting? Of course NVDA's focus would have to be
automatically moved to that section of the user guide. This is just
something I thought up. There would have to be a way for the context
sensitive help to only operate when inside either NVDA's menu or
settings dialogues, and when you are outside this, it opens either the
application's specific help or the windows help like normal. Just a
thought.
Thanks.
