[nvda] No braille support when using Alva Satellite via USB

Hi,
after having set up NVDA with braile on my desktop machine, I tried to
install it on my laptop, where I only have an USB connection.
I installed libusb-win32 and tested the connection, everything OK.
I then installed brltty with no errors, brlapi started, but the first
problem here: I don't read the startup message.
Setting up NVDA's braille support results in not starting the display,
although there were no error messages.
Of course I edited brltty.conf with the parameters "al", "usb:" and "de"
as text table.
What may have caused this? Are there known issues with Alva Satellite
and USB?
May I install the libusb device driver instead of the filter? What's the
difference? The install procedure of the device driver sounds a bit
complicated, so is it necessary?
