[nvda] Re: New again to the list with a couple of questions

Sir,

SAPI5 is more American sounding. It does not do quite as good a
job, but sounds much more American. Down side is it mispronounces some
words, or word group, or abbreviations, such as NVDA. The espeak
synthesizer is smart enough to pronounce NVDA, N V D A, but sapi5
pronounces it like nuvda or something. It will also mispronounce various
other things. Beyond, being confusing sometimes, does have OK sounding
voices.

To change you synthesizer, press NVDA button + N. NVDA button
probably Insert, so press Insert + N. Arrow to "Preferences" on that menu,
and hit enter. This will bring up a submenu, arrow down to "Synthesizer…,"
and hit enter. This will bring up a dropdown with a list of synthesizers.
You can arrow to one of them, and then hit enter to choose that synthesizer.
Best of Luck,
God Bless you,
Grae
