[nvda] Re: Navigating by object?

The Notepad program comes with the Windows operating system.

To open the file... (It will ask you what you want to do. (Eg. go to the internet to find out which file type it is). Do not use this one. (Or open it with another application). To open it, OK it to use another application and tab or arrow down to Notepad and press enter.

The other way to do it is: Insert + N (at the same time)... Arrow down to help ... Right arrow across to key command quick reference. Press enter, and then go to whichever part you need.

Good luck

Look at the keyboard map files founder under appModules. Open them
with notepad. They are called "_default_desktop.kbd" and
    "_default_laptop.kbd"

        navigation for laptops:

        NVDA+m=review previousCharacter
        NVDA+,=review currentCharacter
        NVDA+.=review nextCharacter

        NVDA+k=review currentWord
        NVDA+l=review nextWord
        NVDA+u=review previousLine
        shift+NVDA+u=review startOfLine
        NVDA+i=review currentLine
        NVDA+o=review nextLine
        shift+NVDA+o=review endOfLine

Hello everyone. I am currently reading the NVDA user guide to
get familiar with it before I start using it properly. I have
noticed that all the object navigation keys seem to be with
        the num pad.

I like my keyboard layout as laptop, as I find this a lot
easier. I've also configured NVDA to use the caps lock key.
Are there any equivalent laptop keystrokes for object navigation?

Thanks very much for your help.

        From Gary Price.
