I don't know the exact english names of all the controls but if you
have got classic start menu enabled it should be under settings taskbar and
start menu on the taskbar tab. There are multiple checkboxes E.G. lock
taskbar, hide the taskbar automatically, group similar buttons in the
taskbar, hide inactive icons.. I have got all these unchecked.

Also 'Keep the taskbar always on top' or something like that? I've had these partially checked and partially unchecked, but I'll see what happens if I uncheck them all, or in other words, I'll see if my screen reader (both JAWS and NVDA) will behave differently then having all these unchecked. Perhaps others than 'Hide inactive taskbar icons' aren't so relevant to screen readers? What about 'Lock the taskbar' or 'Keep the taskbar always on top'? I still left 'Show the clock' checked in the notification area, because others would like to see it and my braille display will show it also without 'asking the time'. But the screen reader still reads the time when asking it also when having that selection unchecked, so that may not be relevant for the screen reader either. Or perhaps I'll notice some differences from before when running several applications simultaneously, and the unchecked selections may allways be re-checked if needed.

I have translated all these terms from my Finnish Windows to English, so they may not allways be correct. It would be great to change the OS language 'by fly' to check the correct terms in other than the default language.
