Basically though what this means is that if you are the admin on a computer or have an account on it, you should be running the installed version anyway. I do know though that its often the case with a snap that you want to keep the current known good latest snap before committing to a new one of unknown reliability, this is when folk tend to use the portable version. In the scenario now, one cannot say for certain that the test with the new portable version will always show potential bugs as it used to, due to the divergence. What you need really is a back out and go back system for the installed version, without having to mess with system restore or manually disable one and install the new one in another place thus losing the ini file settings.
