[nvda] Re: NVDA R 1216 and Audacity

I have only been using the beta for about a week and I've found that, at least on my machine, it seems not to be reliable when recording. You haven't described when the program crashes or what you are doing. Are you recording, or does the program crash when you run it before you do anything, etc. In the documentation for Audacity, it says that it crashes with a few high end sound cards. Are you using such a card?

Depending on what you find as you continue to experiment and if you want to use Audacity, the best solution might be to use another program for recording and then edit or work with the file in Audacity. Another option is to use the stable nonbeta version of Audacity and see what results you get. You could record with the old version, then edit and work with the file in the new version. So far, I have found no stability problems when editing or otherwise working with files such as when using the batch conversion option or applying effects. The only problem I've seen is that the beta appears to crash often or not record properly if you record for a time, perhaps an hour or more. This may happen in shorter periods than an hour but I haven't tested shorter recording times. I'd be very interested in what other people find regarding the Audacity beta.
