[nvda] Re: Java access bridge

Well, I installed Java on here and its improved access to the Java control panel, but I have little other Java software to judge it with so far. I will be giving Open Office a go when they sort out the installer etc, but I've not seen any other problems since the bridge was installed.

Don't know about Window Eyes as I do not have it here.

I have no idea just that this particular site uses it and it is not accessible with window-eyes which is my main screen reader or system access to go. However, a while back there was discussion on this list re the java access bridge which is supposed to make java usable with NVDA. ----- Original Message ----- From: "List account Brians (downstairs)" <bglists@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>

Yes, that was what I meant. How exactly would a site use Java though, is this an external bit of software needed to access the site then?

Are we talking Java as in the programming language, or Javascript as in the web extension, not the same animal.

Subject: [nvda] Java access bridge

Am I rite in thinking that NVDA can use the java access bridge? The chat section of a particular site I am subscribed to uses java and therefore is not normally accessible to screen readers. What I would like to know is, if
I install the java access bridge, how exactly do I use it?
