[nvda] Re: Introduction

Hey Robjoy!

Well, well. The Hungarians always meet at one point in life. I guess that saying is true. I know you from many sources. :)

Yes, I imagine the reason you're running JAWS 6.2 is because the orginazation that translates jaws ( vakalap ) has not yet done JAWS 8 in the Hungarian version. That's sad. Many of my friends are revolting against the orginization, and trying to manual translate JAWS. But this discussion is for another list that I have not yet heard of.

So, one big reason for me to translate NVDA ( which I have done ) into Hungarian was because I wanted the Hungarian folks to have a screen reader that's almost like JAWS. They accepted it fine, but still hate the fact that symbols and marks are spoken in English. I heard that the developers are working around this issue, though I'm not sure on progress. You may find the translation instruction at:

http://techreviews.raydi.com/other.html I myself do not know Python as well. I'm more of a c + + guy. Maybe it's because of the fact that for my Robotics club, the robot had to be programmed in c++. Or maybe because my dad taught me Pascal at age 7, which is almost like c++.

Anyways, 496 words is a lot to read, I know. I hope that you have fun on here and that all will work out fine.

Best regards: Tomi

Subject: [nvda] Introduction

Hello all,
I'm Robert Osztolykan from hungary, and i'd like to introduce
myself.
Some of you who subscribed to the audyssey gamers mailing list,
or visiting audiogames.net's forums, may know me as Robjoy.
I'm 19 years old, studying informatic technology, including
programming, but unfortunately i do not know the pithon language.
I'm using jaws as my main screen reader, and, of course, its
quite good.
However, after visiting a friend who has no screen reader at all
(of course not, he's sighted, stupid me, smiles), i looked for alternatives, and i've found thunder.
I've thought, its ok, but when someone has told me about nvda, i
said, lets give it a try. So, i did, and i have to say, i'm quite impressed. Considering that its a
quite young project, open source, and free, it totally deserves
the best free screen reader reward.
The fact, that it works with firefox, made me happy as well,
since i'm not a big friend of IE, and since i'm using jaws 6.2, which has no firefox support, i think its
quite understandable.
Well, these are my thoughts for now, as i realised i'm talking
too much about things which are obvious.
Best regards,
Rob
