Great news. I hope that in the future, IAccessible2 can help to improve
access to many specific applications, in particular concerning musical
virtual synthesisers.
Currently, I'm building a home studio and I've already tried using
several virtual synthesisers but the great majority is so hard to set
up, in particular those from Native Instruments...
I hear your pain. However, such software synths are not just
inaccessible in the mild sense of the word. They render text in a
completely different way so that JAWS and Window Eyes can't see the text
at all. I can't see any possible reason for this (why go out of one's
way to implement graphical text rendering? Why not just use weird fonts
or something?) Most of these synths need nothing more than what is
provided by MSAA, but they don't implement it, so I'm afraid
IAccessible2 is not going to change anything here. IAccessible2 will
rather benefit software which needs to communicate information that MSAA
cannot communicate; e.g. office documents, etc.
