OK, I had an avg8 induced download problem on themachine yesterday, which is
hopefully now fixed, so I'll try it. I need to tell the site to go to
Microsoft update from windows update as the Office components are not
getting their updates. And as I say this bit of the site will not work in
nvda.

Hi.
Activate that .exe file while you have an internet connection. It will
download system access to go from the website then and then launch it.
That's why i'm not particularly crazy about satogo, I have to download it
every time I want to run it, so to speak, but it works so makes a good
alternative for now. It's a screen reader. It'll take about 50 seconds
unless you're a dialup user to load. I tried it on my dialup internet and
it took about 45 minutes to load it, rofl! It'll play sounds to you over
and over. Then it should begin to talk with dectalk voice and give you the
chance to log in or create a new log in. At this point you can either
choose to continue without logging in, so be a guest, or you can create a
log in. Then start using your computer. It works with programs like
outlook express and stuff and windows update, lol.

Hi.
this isn't exactly NVDA promotional, but I've used this before myself
and I know that it's very important to be able to do windows update
especially on newly formatted computers with fresh coppies of the
windows opperating system installed. If you need to do windows update
through internet explorer in the future and all you have is NVDA, just
open the run dialogue and type http://satogo.com. That will allow you to
do updates and things like that until NVDA can handle it itself.

Yes, as I found out while trying to get a laptop to work correctly with
a messy update record, Good access to windows update is a really
important one I think. I do not care how its done, but its a real pain
at the moment. I had to get a list of missing updates from a third
party prog, send it to another machine over the net, then find the
files, download them and squirt them all back the other way, all with a
flaky computer. It worked OK, no more exception errors and a faster
system, and I guess ultimately faster than reformat and re install
everything, but it was still a pain compared to having windows update
working.
I could have chanced installing a copy of hal, but from experience on
dodgy machines, I could have ended up with a brick not a computer.

There are so many other much more important things than ITunes that the
team should be working on.
ITunes just isn't that big a deal to the majority of us.

Hi,
Not sure how NVDA would handle this, but ITunes uses custome Apple
controls i believe. Maybe the IAccessible libraries have a fix for
this? Also have you tried rockbox? I'd put a direct link to the site
here but my links never become links on the other end, at least not how
i want them to. The site is rockbox.org.
I am also on there forums as big d.

Hello; Listers, I don't post much. But I got an idea for the next
release of nvda. How about support for iTUNES and iPOD? Let me know
about this idea because some of us have iPODs and we would like to put
music on the iPOD. If this happends I'll give up JAWS anytime!
