I also get the message, However, so does my sighted wife and several
friends. The only common denominator is each of us are running WIN XP and
using either add on wireless adapters or not the onboard adapters on laptops
and all loose the message if we hardliner to our routers. So.... I would
surmise it is a windows up issue.

FWIW, one of my laptops permanently keeps on doing similar stuff -
mentioning the network cable as well as saying that 'one of my USB devices
isn't operating' although there's nothing turned on attached to the
relevant port.
Either way, what happens is that the status bar popups keep on coming up
at certain stages, and Jaws is also reading them to me on a 'regular'
basis, so I'm actually pretty sure it's either a problem with my laptop,
or my year and a half old installation of Windows XP (which has in fact
had hundreds of different software pieces installed and uninstalled), and
I don't think it's relevant to any of the screenreader packages I use on
this machine. FWIW, this machine is my communication/playtime machine
that i use for email, internet, eBooks, games etc. etc.
Also, my other 'work' laptop has a lot of the same software installed,
including NVDA, Jaws etc., and it never really says the same stuff to me.

Hi, Has anyone gotten a repeated message that says a network cable is
unplugged.
I don't know if this is something nvda is reading from a buffer or what.
I get this message quite often, but the cable isn't unplugged. The
connection also seems to be ok because if I am downloading a file it
isn't interrupted.
Anyway I thought I would see if anyone else has had this problem before
going any farther.
Mike.
