[nvda] Re: How NVDA reads when typing

I've only tried with System Access to go and Jaws for Windows and there is a difference between how they do it and how NVDA does it.
Try it with NVDA instead and tell me what you got.
I'm thinking about sending a very short file to you off list so you can clearly hear what the difference between NVDA and other screenreaders is. And hopefully you can explain it better htan I could. But I ttried to reset my configuration totally today in NVDA and sadly nothing changed.
I don't know what exactly I've done wrong.

Best wishes
Thomas

Hmm, just switched to hall, now lets see.
I want to type this then
press enter
I want to type this and then press space
Hmm, that does the same thing. Oh dear. Now you have me confused.

Maybe its a quirk of the way say whole word works on these two readers
anyway.

Strictly speaking, if you have moved a line, the thing to say would be new
line or similar, and indeed on Hal I seem to recall with a higher verbosity,
it can be done.

Subject: [nvda] How NVDA reads when typing

Hello!

I don't know if this is a bug or just me. But I do find this a little hard
to deal with when writing mails with NVDA. Or just writing in general.
I'll try to describe this situation as good as possible:
If e.g I do type:
Hello Peter,
how are you
on the same line NVDA doesn't do anything wrong. But if I do the same thing
(but now instead of hitting the space bar) hit the enter key NVDA doesn't
say anything until I've pressed the space bar again. This means that the
sentance would sound a bit like this:
Hello PeterHow are you?
That confuses me a little and I don't know if this is a bug in the way NVDA is designed, but for me it could be nice if NVDA spoke the word I just typed rather hitting enter or the spacebar afterwards. You see, it should just do
the same as when I'm hitting the spacebar or using the enter key. I really
hope you do understand. But if I didn't explain this good enough then please
tell me.

Best regards
Thomas
