[nvda] Re: GUI focus issue

Hi Jamie,

Havn't tried 269 yet, but, I suppose that makes sence now, I did notice that it would seem to get it right after getting it wrong once. Still, I never trusted that theory enough to try it.

Perhaps an idea might be to have a config option: hideOnStartup?

Most people would probably have it set to true, but perhaps some users may want it always there ... not sure.

But, great if it has been fixed; I have tried so may things.

Mick

Subject: [nvda] GUI focus issue

Hi all,

r269 should hopefully fix for good the problem where the NVDA window does not receive focus. Log message follows:

"This should hopefully fix the GUI focus issue for good. It seemed that it worked reliably after the window had received focus at least once (which usually meant alt-tabbing for the user). However, a GUI application always receives focus if it displays a window immediately upon loading. Therefore, we now show the window and then hide it immediately on load. This means that the window has had focus previously at least once, so it appears to be all happy. I have no idea why this happens, but it appears to work on my system."

Feedback would be appreciated.

Jamie
