maybe however I hate automation as a rule of anything.
so much can go wrong.
Don't get me wrong, I like automation as something but I also like
manual controls as well,
I have to go to properties of the divice with jaws or hal and tab
once and it tells me the status.

Hi, just changed the subject line to reflect the new thread. In terms of
this, surely that's a good thing? Would it not be better if you were
automatically informed that a device, for example, wasn't functioning? Just
a thought.

Here is something interesting. I just tried Device Manager with System
Access from Sarotek (spelling.) I found that it also says this device is
working properly every time you move in any way in the treeview. I am very
suspicious that this is an artifact of using MSAA to access treeviews which
I believe both System Access and NVDA do and does not indicate the true
state of items.
