[nvda] Re: Cannot use updated espeak4nvda with trunk 1742

I suspect its because it does not work is the reason it was not in the update?

Or is this too obvious. I'll go back to sleep now....

Subject: [nvda] Cannot use updated espeak4nvda with trunk 1742

Hi,

i just downloaded and updated my nvda install with the zip archive of 1742trunk. i use nvda's native espeak and usually update it to the updated version of espeak from January 20, 2008 that someone posted a link to on here a couple of weeks ago.

however, I found that when starting my updated nvda build 1742 here, it started without speech and my sighted husband saw that the synth was set to know speech. When I wentinto the preferences and tried to change to native espeak, I got an error message.

I had updated to the updated espeak for nvda before trying to run the new build. After referting to the version of espeak that nvda comes with, all is fine - except that nvda doesn't sound quite as nice and espeak srackles some when speaking.

Is there anohter updated version of espeak that will work with this latest trunk? If so, could someone please post a link to it?

Thanks much.

doris
