OK then taken out the task quit for nvda and ended it properly, also added a line to start sam.exe as if you are very unlucky, it can be stopped it seems. You can still screw it up if you try switching while its switching however, so tough, slow down, its holiday"

Instead of killing the NVDA process, you should quit NVDA by using:
nvda.exe -q
This will gracefully terminate NVDA without prompting.
