A screen-reader should not return to a visited link. It should return to
wherever you left off on a web page. If you are reading an article and stop
at the beginning of a sentence, that is where you should be returned. The
current discussion is not relevant to what screen-readers do or should do.

when a website is opened, NVDA starts to completely read it.
I would suggest to make this optional, so that the user can turn it off.
Can you file a ticket, please? If you really can't, I will do it later.
One consequence of this feature is that NVDA does not land on visited
links when returning to a formerly visited page.
If the browser correctly sets focus to an element (including a link) when
it loads a page, NVDA will stop reading and instead move to and announce
the element. Unfortunately, focus is sometimes not restored as it should
be in Firefox. In particular, if you have WebVisum enabled, focus will
*never* be restored. This is either a bug in WebVisum, Firefox or both.
Given this piece of info, do you still want this feature, or was it just
to work around the visited link issue?
